This image is a reference to the earlier brewery called \u2018De Eenhoorn\u2019 (the unicorn) which formed a dual-brewery with the \u2018De Kroon\u2019 brewery which is a little further along on the left.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"routepic\" src=\"https:\/\/routevanverzoening.nl\/amersfoort\/img\/routes\/ambacht\/ambacht10.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Amersfoort had a substantial beer industry. The breweries were primarily located on the Kortegracht and Langegracht because they could use the canal water for the process. It was only in the 18th century that pure Amersfoort spa water began to be used.
