The Farmer’s Route
5. – Landgoed Schothorst
The Schothorst Estate was founded in 1780 in the location where the Schothorst Farm is now located; there is also evidence that farmers’ housing also stood here in around 1600. The entire complex (the country home, coach house and the orangery) are all listed buildings.
Since 1987, this has been home to a reconstructed, medieval farm with a corresponding estate, full of old breeds, including the Veluws heideschaap (heath sheep), the Dutch Landrace goat, and Kune pig.
