The Farmer’s Route
6. – Hoogerhorst Farm
This farm in Hoogland-West is a listed building and the underground remains are regarded as an archaeological monument. Hoogerhorst is unique and has had various roles through the centuries. The house served as a catholic conventicle in 1621 and, at the end of the 17th century, the rich Lijnslager family developed the farm into a beautiful estate, with coach house. In 1897, the site was purchased by the farmer Dorus van den Hengel; Hoogerhorst is still owned by this family.
