16. – The Carillonneur
The ‘beiaardier’ (carillonneur) is an image that speaks for itself It is a man who is enjoying sounding the church bells and adding a touch of music to the day of Amersfoort’s residents. On Grote Spui 16, you can find the Nederlandse Beiaardschool (Dutch Carillon School or NBS). The NBS offers the only course in the Netherlands that gives lessons in the Beiaard to the very highest level of Master of Music.
