2. – After the vault tunnel
The water spout in the quay wall after the vault tunnel depicts a very young Piet Mondriaan in his pushchair. Looking out, to his surprise, he sees that the vehicle has square wheels. According to the sculptor, this could have been the reason behind the shapes that Mondriaan used later, in his own work.
