There have not been farming companies in the centre of Amersfoort for many years but old maps show that urban farms had an important role in the 17th century. The Koestraat area used to be home to properties with haystacks, vegetable gardens and orchards. At this address, there was initially a farm which then served as a café and a grocery store.
